  Kathy O. Roper
  Kathy O. Roper is Professor of Integrated Facility and Property Management at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta Georgia and teaches in the areas of graduate sustainable facility and property management, facility planning, project management, benchmarking, and corporate real estate. Prior to coming to Georgia Tech in 2002, she practiced facility management and corporate real estate for corporate, government and not-for-profits for 20+ years.

Roper was 2011-2012 Chair of the International Facility Management Association Board of Directors, having served on the Board since 2008, and she has been a member of the Atlanta Chapter of IFMA Board of Directors for over 15 years, serving as president in 1997.

In 2007, Roper was awarded the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Fellow, the associationís highest recognition of service and lifetime achievement in the field. Roper is also a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional and an IFMA Certified Facility Manager.

Roper is the Co-Founder and Co-Editor of the International Journal of Facility Management, launched in 2009. She is co-author of The Facility Management Handbook, Third Edition and Fourth Edition (due out in July!) and she also writes regularly for other academic and professional journals and conferences.

Her research focuses on strategic facility planning, sustainability in facility operations and new trends in workplace management.
