First Ever Workshop Coming This Spring on Rise of Urban Hospital: High Rise Healthcare Facilities for the 21st Century

  by Glenn Fischer | February 22, 2016

The Chicago Committee on High Rise Buildings is conducting the “first ever” workshop on the challenges of High Rise Healthcare design, construction and operations on Tuesday, April 26.

The healthcare world has seen an increase in the size and complexity of healthcare facilities – introducing new technical challenges. This seminar will address several of the most common and pressing technical challenges found in this genre of building in a presentation format.

Topics to be addressed include the unique challenges with regulatory compliance, vertical transportation performance, exterior envelope and HVAC/other engineering systems when designing, constructing or operating large scale/high rise healthcare projects. A half-dozen presenters will share expertise from their recent experience in the design of complex, large scale high rise healthcare projects.

A moderated discussion and Q+A will follow the formal presentations.
